Majors undefeated in Orange Park

Tracie Majors

With the Ladies Spirit Tour back in action at Park Avenue Billiards in Orange Park Florida this weekend, the fans were primed for a rematch between the finalists from last month; Jeannie Seaver and fast rising Ga Young Kim. That rematch would occur Sunday morning when Seaver duplicated her 7-3 victory from last month.

While the spotlight might have been on #1 ranked Seaver and Kim, the other winners side match on Sunday morning saw #2 ranked Tracie Majors hand Jennifer Nelson a 7-1 loss to set up the match between #1 and #2 for the hot-seat. That match would go to the hill, before Majors notched the final game for the 7-6 victory.

Seaver would take the trip to the one-loss side, where Ga Young Kim was waiting after her 7-0 whitewashing of Jennifer Nelson. This match would not go Seaver's way, as Kim built on the momentum from the previous match and rolled to a 7-2 victory.

That momentum would not be enough for Kim though, as Majors scored the 7-2 win in the first set of the double elimination finals for the tournament victory.

Majors collected $700 for the win in addition to the WPBA 2004 Players Choice Qualifier, while Kim settled for $500. Seaver and Nelson filled out the top four spots. With the victory, Seaver's lead on the points list is now a mere five points going into the event in Brandenton next month.
