Teutscher, who dropped only 24 racks across seven matches at decorated Australian pool veteran Alec Evreniadis’ Empire Bar & Pool, is the recipient of $11,600 World Nineball Tour Ranking Points, seeing him overtake the likes of Mickey Krause, Lee Van Corteza and Johann Chua inside the world’s top 75.

Staring at a four-rack deficit to Australia’s Lacey, the Dutchman’s tide changed as he won the next nine to snap off the first trophy of the Oceania Nineball Tour. Having previously displayed his class in reaching the last 16 at the 2021 US Open, Teutscher was the cream of a competitive 128-man field in Adelaide, posting a rack-win percentage of 73%.

Australia’s World Cup of Pool representative James Georgiadis enjoyed a run to the semi-finals, falling to Teutscher in a 10-3 rout. His World Cup teammate Justin Sajich was knocked out in a hill-hill contest with Lacey in the last 16, where New Zealand’s Matt Edwards was also defeated – losing out 9-4 to Greg Jenkins.

The Adelaide spectacle marked the first offering of Matchroom’s commitment to expanding Nineball pool in Oceania, following the launch of the Nineball Oceania Tour earlier this year. In partnership with Australia’s Pockets Sports, Oceania’s largest professional Pool Promoter, the World Nineball Tour is dedicated to offering a fair and transparent system for all players wherever they are in the world to earn vital Nineball World Ranking points, opening the doors to the most-valued tournaments in the sport.

Following the success of the first, Empire Bar & Pool will host the second Oceania Ranking Event in November. Limited registration places and full details are available here.
