The Planet Pool Women's Tour made it way to Champion Billiards Sports Café on Sunday Feb 13th with a strong field of 21 players. Top players in the field included Lai Li, Megan Smith, Linda Shea, Nicole Vincent, Cheryl Squire, Aubrey James, and Shanna Lewis to name a few.
Leading the top half of the bracket was Megan Smith with wins over Bethany Kurtz 6-1, Kia Sidbury 6-0, Shanna Lewis 6-4, and Linda Shea 6-3. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Nicole Vincent with wins over Spring Helligrath 7-3, Aubrey James 6-5, and Cheryl Squire 6-5.
Playing for the hot seat was Megan Smith vs Nicole Vincent. This was a good match with Megan Smith taking control from the start and never looking back to win the match 6-3, sending Vincent to the one loss side. Waiting for Nicole Vincent on the one loss side was Linda Shea. This was a one sided match with Linda winning easily 5-2 to get to the finals.
In the finals it was Megan Smith vs Linda Shea in one race to seven. This was a great back and forth match that saw Smith pull away late in the match to win 7-4 and to win the season opener.
