More in store at this year’s BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships

The 35th Annual BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships will once again be held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada from May 11-22, 2011. Called "The Greatest Pool Tournament in the World," this year's event promises even more festivities for competitors and fans.

Kicking off the 11 day pool extravaganza is the BCAPL 9-Ball singles events. CueSports International (CSI) added a Men's Open Singles (max 256 players) and a Women's Open 9-Ball Singles (max 128 players). The expansion was wildly well received as CSI announced in early-April the Men's Open 9-Ball Singles field was full.

In addition to the 30 BCAPL divisions of 8-Ball and 9-Ball play, CSI is expanding into a broader array of pocket billiard activities and competitions. In the Grande Ballroom, players will have an opportunity to test their straight pool knowledge or simply learn more about the game at the CSI 14.1 High Run Challenge booth. $20 buys four attempts at an accumulative high run. Payouts will be awarded in several different divisions. The top eight scores advance to a single elimination finals bracket for another opportunity for prize money.

CSI is producing two pro level events. The 12th U.S. Open One Pocket Championship (May 12-15) will feature top one pocket players from all over the world. The 3rd U.S. Open 10-Ball Championship (May 16-21) returns again in 2011 after an explosive first year at the Riv and expects to draw an exceptional mix of players. Qualifier tournaments for both events have been actively filling the fields with the cream of the crop. The player list for both events can be viewed at

Live streaming for both the U.S. Open One Pocket and U.S. Open 10-Ball events will be provided by The Action Report (TAR). The stream will be available free for Riviera Hotel & Casino guests and via PPV worldwide. Visit for the stream schedule, daily and package pricing. Web personality Samm Diep will be providing player interviews and event coverage between matches with Samm's Snippets.

CSI will feature special prizes and giveaways to spectators at both U.S. Open events. At the start of many matches signed t-shirts will be randomly tossed into the stands. You may purchase spectator tickets by the session or an all session pass. Both general admission and VIP passes are available. After May 1st all tickets must be purchased on site at the Pro Box Office located near the Royale Pavilion at the Riviera Hotel. To pre-order contact Mark Estes at or at (702) 719-7665.
