New Jersey NCS 8-Ball Qualifier Host Room Changed to Comet Billiards

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the NCS (National Championship Series) 8-Ball Qualifier, which is scheduled January 3-4, 2009 is being moved from Atlantic City Billiards to Comet Billiards in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Comet Billiards was voted in 2001 as one of the top ten pool rooms in the United States by Billiards Digest. It has long been a favorite room in the northeast by players and promoters alike frequently a host location for both the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour and the Predator 9-Ball Tour.

The NCS is open to all players, men, women, amateurs and professionals. The format is: 8-Ball, race to 6 on the winner's side and 5 on the one-loss side, double elimination. The entry fee is $50. The room opens at 11 am, the draw will take place at 12:30 pm with the first round starting at 1 pm. Two players will win their entry to the NCS 8-Ball National Championship, scheduled in Las Vegas in mid-February.

The NCS 8-Ball Championship based on 64 players will have a $32,000 prize fund and one U.S player will win 1 of only 5 spots representing the United States to the WPA World 8-Ball Championship, which has a prize fund of $200,000.
