It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Nick Varner!!!

A field of 44 top players converged on the "Superman Classic" Open 9-ball tournament in Metropolis, IL over the weekend and it was Nick Varner proving he had the edge over the rest of the field as he went undefeated including an 11-8 win over Johnny Archer in the finals. The win is Varner's first win in a pro 9-ball event this year and it was the third time this year that Archer has made it to a final match, only to lose and settle for second.

The win was worth $7,500 for Varner while Archer settled for $4,000 for second. Charlie Williams had another great tournament and finished third. Dallas West completed the top 4 players.
