Schmidt wins at Corner Pocket in Kenner

John Schmidt

John Schmidt came back from the one-loss side to avenge an early loss and won the SE Open 9-Ball Tour Stop at The Corner Pocket in Kenner, LA.

Schmidt lost to room owner Jamie Farrell early Sunday. Farrell went on to defeat Wade Crane 9-4 for the hot-seat. Schmidt came back through the one-loss side with wins over Tommy Kennedy and then Crane to earn a rematch with Farrell in the extended final match.

Schmidt took control of the finals and never looked back on his way to an 11-1 victory. Schmidt won $800 for first, while Farrell settled for $555 in second place prize money.

Tour director Tommy Kennedy thanked Ron Park for helping run a smooth tourney and Corner Pocket room owners Farrell and Glenn Robin for their help with this event. "Jamie and Glenn always put on a great event and their help is top notch" said Kennedy.

The SE Open 9-Ball Tour will be at The Pool Room in Marietta, Ga on July 17th-18th for their next event.
