Bobby Moore wins Florida Amateur Stop

On June 27, 2004, Bobby Moore, from Lady Lake, Fl, came out on top to win the Kings Bay Promotions and Sterling Gaming 2004 Fury Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour 11th tour stop at Baron's Billiards, formerly Jerome's Billiards in Bradenton, Fl. The stop drew a total of 43 players to compete in this $500 added event.

Bobby Moore started out by losing his first match of the day to Bill Bloom, which sent him to the left side of the bracket. While Bobby was playing through the losers side Julio Aquino was climbing through the winner's side. Mike Najarian, who recently moved to Florida from California, took an early 4-1 lead, when he and Julion met for the King of the Hill match. Julio fought back by winning the next 6 games in a row scoring a 7-4 victory to send Mike to the one loss side.

In the fight for 4th place Larry Walthall, tour points leader, faced off with Bobby Moore. The games were intense, but in the end Bobby took a 5-3 victory over Larry.

Since Mike Najarian was sent to the one loss side he met up with Bobby Moore who was already showing strong steady playing abilities. With the match tied 2-2, Mike won the next two games to bring the score 4-2. Bobby then took control of the table for the next 3 games for a final score of 5-4 leaving Mike in 3rd place.

Bobby Moore and Julio Aquino met up for the final race to 9 match. The play started out with an even score of 1-1 but Bobby won 4 straight games to bring the score 5-1. By the 11th game, Bobby led the match with a score 7-4, but Julio took the table for the next 4 games, leaving a score of 8-7. Bobby took charge of the table wining the next two games for a victory and winning his first Florida Amateur Tour win by a score of 9-7

Baron's Billiards, formerly Jerome's Billiards,is owned by Tim Baron and located in Bradenton, Fl. The pool room is well laid out with 9-9' Diamond Pro Cut Tables and 6 Bar Box Tables.
