WPBL Resumes Play

The World Professional Billiard League resumes their season today at the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Over the course of eight straight days, 18 matches will be played. All matches are taped in front of a live audience for later broadcast. Matches currently being broadcast on the WPBL website were previously recorded earlier in the season.

The WPBL invites fans who are in the Las Vegas area to experience firsthand the rich history of cue sports, and see the world’s top players in action as all matches are free to attend. The league will feature three matches on November 2nd and 3rd (3pm, 6pm and 8:30pm) and two matches a day for the rest of the schedule through the 9th (6pm and 8:30pm). All matches are Pacific Time.

To kick off the week’s play, the first match will feature John Schmidt’s Las Vegas Dice vs. Corey Deuel’s Miami Cruise. Other teams schedule to play this weekend include: Thorsten Hohmann’s Minnesota Outlaws, Earl Strickland’s New York Pride, Jeremy Jones’ Huston Hustlers, Oscar Dominguez’ Los Angles Wave, Darren Appleton’s Philadelphia Aces and Johnny Archer’s Atlanta Scorpions.

The Las Vegas Dice has had a roster change, adding former Minnesota Outlaw alternate and local Las Vegas resident Max Eberle to the team. Due to scheduling conflicts, the team will also seek the assistance of a second alternate Nick Spano for this week’s play. Captain John Schmidt had this to say about his new teammates “I am happy to have both of these guys on my team, they are both great players and I am confident they will get the job done.”
