Robert Ray wins Tidewater Tour Stop

Fast Eddies in Goldsboro, N.C was the host to the 2nd stop for the Fury Tidewater event on July 10. With a field of 38 players in the $1000 added event Robert Ray walked away with the prize and an entry into the Carolina Open set for August.

Robert Ray went to the losers bracket when Delton Howard beat him in a close match.Steve Paige went through the winners bracket by putting Delton Howard on the losers side. Delton Howard had to face Robert Ray again but this time Robert sent him to 3rd place. Robert faced off with Steve Paige while both players played their games well through some misses and a few bad rolls Robert Ray came out as victorious with a 9-6 win.

Tour new comer Eric Hildabrand from Toronto, Canada stopped in to play at this event on his way to South Carolina with a break that made you think the table moved. Eric ran through his 1st two matches and looked like he was a player with much potential but in the end he placed 4th.

Matt Carter from the tour sponsor Sterling Gaming located in Matthews, N.C. brought over Fury players Kelly Fisher and Val Finney for the event. Kelly and Val are snooker players from England and have now joined the Fury family. Kelly drew Charlie Brinson for her 1st match and went hill to hill with Charlie Beating her in a 7-6 victory. Val drew Robert Ray and was sent to the losers bracket where she was beat by another of our tour players .

Tour owner Kay Higgins, while in Matthews, N.C., was able to meet with the women the day before the tournament and wish them luck.

Fast Eddies located in Goldsboro, N.C has 13- 9' Brunswick Gold Crown tables with 860 Simonis cloth on them. It is a private club with a full service bar and basic pool room finger food. We would like to thank Fast Eddies and the staff for hosting our events.
