Jeong tames Hurricane Wiseman in Orlando

Young Hwa Jeong

Young Hwa Jeong came from the one-loss side to score an exciting win over 'Hurricane' Ronnie Wiseman in the finals of the Seminole Tribe Florida Pro Tour stop at Pro Billiards in Orlando, Fl.

Wiseman, who has recently moved to Florida, scored a 9-7 win over Jeong to take the hot-seat. That win over Jeong would not be the last time Wiseman saw Jeong on the other side of a pool table on this day. Jeong defeated newly crowned Florida Player of the Year Mika Immonen 9-5 to earn his rematch with Wiseman in the finals.

The finals were another close match with Jeong getting to the hill first at 12-11. The next game saw Jeong and Wiseman engage in a safety battle on the one-ball. This battle would be won by Jeong when Wiseman clipped a 5-ball and scratched. Jeong pocketed the one-ball and went three rails to break up a 2-5 cluster but left himself very close to the 2-ball. To the crowd's amazement, Jeong jacked up and massed off the 2-ball to pocket the 9-ball for the 13-11 victory.

Jeong pocketed $3000 for first place, while Wiseman settled for $1800. Immonen and Richard Broumpton filled out the top four spots.

The Seminole Tribe Florida Pro Tour will be at Planet 9-Ball on October 22nd - 24th for their $15,000 added season finale.
