Pandoras Box Unleashes It’s Fury

The Canadian Women's Pool Tour held its first 8 ball 3 women team season at Raxx Billiards Brampton, Ontario on November 6 2004. Six teams turned out for the first event of the 8 Ball season to compete and qualify for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, for the International Championships that will be held in May of 2005. With an entry fee of $60.00 per team, a prize fund of $400.00 including the $100.00 added money sponsor by RAXX and a team auction of $495.00, the ladies teams all voted to hold a round robin format that lead to Pandors's Box taking 1st place Cash prize!

CWPT would like to graciously thank RAXX Brampton for supporting the tour, by allowing us to hold our very first Ladies 3-Player Team 8-Ball event at their establishment. Great service, fabulous food and a smoking room built for all patrons, players and spectators. It's not easy keeping up with the laws, but I would like to say the owners realize how to provide a great level of customer service, 75% non-smoking and 25% smoking. If you haven't been to Raxx Brampton, please do not hesitate to stop by and check out this massive billiard hall with a variety of pool tables.

Pandora's Box, made up of Leslie Pasieka, Jackie Summers and Krista Walsh with a combined handicap of 24, came out with a magical force right off the bat with wins over Chix With Stix 4-0, All Break No Balls 4-0, Kraft Dinner Deluxe 3-1, until meeting up with the Casino Queens where they were defeated 4-0. With all teams going into the last round, there were three teams in a battle for the prize money. Kraft Dinner Deluxe, (KDD), made up of Karen Summers, Denise Belanger and Diana Yeoman with a combined handicap of 28, was in a tie with Pandora's Box, while the Casino Queens, made up of Cindy Bristow, Laurie Patrick and Karen Willmott with a combined handicap of 22, were trailing by two points. The race was on! Pandora's Box played SBS Crew and came out with a 3-1 win, KDD played Chix With Stix and lost 3-1, Casino Queens played All Break No Balls and won 4-0.

The winning team was Pandora's Box with a combined total of 14 wins thus taking the first place prize money of $240.00 and the team auction of $300.00. While Casino Queens, with a combined total of 13, took home the second place prize money of $160.00 and $195.00 of the team auction. Not bad for a $60.00 entry fee.

Two 50/50 draws were held to help raise funds for the trip to Vegas with the first winner receiving $96.00 and the second winner receiving $110.00. Thank you for supporting the Canadian Women's Pool Tour and Ontario Skill Games! We hope to see you at the next event, which will be held at Le Skratch in Oshawa, on December 4-5, 2004.
