Mannino and Rhee come back for Planet Pool Wins

Nick Mannino

Nick Mannino made the most of his early exit at the Glass City Open and snapped off the Planet Pool 9-Ball Tour stop with impressive back to back wins over Brett Stottlemyer. The event, held at Hagerstown Billiards & Cafe in Hagerstown Maryland, drew a field of 77 players looking for their share of the $2000 in added prize money.

Stottlemyer took the hot-seat with a 9-6 win over Mannino and Mannino found himself on the one-loss side facing a determined Mike Davis. Davis had lost to Mannino 9-5 on Saturday and won nine straight matches in order to get another shot at Mannino. Mannino did his earlier victory over Davis one better, as he beat him 9-4 the second time.

This set up the final match between Stottlemyer and Mannino where Mannino would have to win twice in order to take home the first place prize money. That is exactly what Mannino did with two 9-8 wins over Stottlemeyer.

Mannino earned $1100 for first, while Stottlemyer settled for $750 in second place prize money. Davis and room owner Gary Carbough filled out the top four spots.

The ladies division saw the return of a familar face as Sueyen Rhee came back from an early loss to Amanda Pasko and won 7-6 and 7-4 in the finals over Pasko. Rhee pocketed $400 for first, while Pasko took home $270 for second. My-Hanh Lac and Kathy Friend filled out the top four spots.

The Planet Pool 9-Ball Tour will be at Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville, MD on December 4th-5th for their next event.
