Marcus Chamat

Marcus Chamat scored an 11-7 win in the finals over Radoslaw Babica to win the 2005 APN 9 Ball Invitational at The Metro Palace Court Hotel in the UK.

Chamat qualified for the final round of sixteen by sweeping his group 3-0 with wins over Craig Osborne, Stephen Folan and Gary Bolton. Chamat's record in those three wins was a dominating 15-4.

Chamat kept his dominating ways up when he reached the single elimination round of sixteen where he scored a 9-1 win over Andy Jeronimidis. Neither Earl Strickland or Daryl Peach were able to make it beyond the first match in the round of sixteen and Strickland lost to Paul Williams and Peach lost to Kevin Uzzell.

Things got a little tougher for Chamat in the final round of eight as his match with Imran Majid went to hill-hill before Chamat was able to put it away. Also advancing into the round of four were Babica, Mark Gray and Uzzell.

In the final four, Chamat beat Uzzell 9-7 while Babica beat Gray 9-6. This set up the final match which Chamat won 11-7.

Chamat won $5761 for first place, while Babica settled for $2880. Uzzell and Gray pocketed $1440 each for third place.
