Tom Stathis Jr. Trumps Field in Lake Michigan

Twenty players and new winners joined the Fury Lake Michigan tour for their latest event held at ProTyme Billiards in Illinois. Fields are growing as new members join and more members make the trip from the Fury Midwest division to compete.

Meeting for the hot seat was Tom Stathis Jr. from Indiana and Chris' Green Pockets manager, Luis Colon from Chicago. Colon had won the raffle cue before the event and was riding a winning wave through the bracket until he battled Stathis for the hot seat. Stathis put Colon on the B side in quick fashion with a resounding 7-1 win.

On the B side Colon met with Minnesota's Abe Smith who had just put away Neal Jacobs with a 5-1 win. Smith had lost his third match to Colon but was now in form and repaid Colon with a 5-1 win in the semis. Colon had to settle into third place while Smith advanced to the finals.

Stathis didn't have to wait long for an opponent in the finals and didn't get a chance to get cold. Stathis took the first five games off Smith and jumped to a 5-0 lead in the race to nine. Smith was able to win the next two games to make it 5-2, but this didn't faze Stathis as he played off the map to take the remaining four games to win the set 9-2.

The Lake Michigan players were impressed with ProTyme Billiards and will return in the fall to enjoy another tournament in this classy room decked out with internet gaming and a balcony which overlooks the playing area.
