King of the Hill Day One

Francisco Bustamante was one of two undefeated players on day one

Day one is complete at the International Pool Tour's King of the Hill Invitational 8-Ball Shootout at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and fifteen players will not make it to day two's matches.

Group one will see Karen Corr, Nick Van Den Berg and Johnny Archer all advance while Jose Parica, Kim Davenport and Grady Mathews all console themselves with $6,200 in prize money for 29th place.

Group two will definitely see Francisco Bustamante advance with a record of 5-0 in Wednesdays matches. Allison Fisher, Niels Feijen and Raj Hundal are in a three way tie for the remaining two places and we expect Hundal to be the odd man out. Larry Schwartz and Allen Hopkins are definitely eliminated in 29th place.

Group three will see Corey Deuel, Mika Immonen and John Schmidt all advancing into round two while Earl Strickland, Gerda Hofstatter and Bill Incardona all watch the remaining matches from the sidelines.

Group four contains another undefeated player as Marlon Manalo won all five of his matches. He will be joined in round two by Jeremy Jones and most likely Tony Robles who ended Wednesday tied with Thorsten Hohmann at 3-2. Rodney Morris and Helena Thornfeldt will definitely be eliminated.

Group five will see Shawn Putnam and Gabe Owen advance along with most likely Charlie Williams who was tied with George San Souci, Ralf Souquet and Keith McCready.

The three players from each of the five groups will play four round robin matches on Thursday. The top two players in each group will advance, while the bottom three in each group will cash checks for $13,000 in prize money.

The most up to date results should be available Thursday on the International Pool Tour Website at www.internationalpooltour.com
