Nick van den Berg wins Eurotour stop Czech Open

Nick Van Den Berg

No less than 256 players played the Czech Open in Prague: the biggest turnout in the history of the Eurotour, of which this event was part of.

Dutchman Nick van den Berg lost his 2nd round match 8-9 to Craig Riley (Riley was part of a 30 player strong delegation from England) and had to win 9 matches in a row to clinch the title. Which was exactly what he did. The Eurotour 9-ball events are all double elimination to the last 32 players, all races to 9, alternate break. Players include Thomas Engert, Mika Immonen, Niels Feijen, Marcus Chamat, Imran Majid, Sandor Tot, Alex Lely and so on. Basically, all the top Europeans play the events.

Niels Feijen lost his number 1 ranking to German Thomas Engert, and Nick van den Berg jumps to 2nd place.

Nick van den Berg, who recently renewed his website www.nickvandenberg.com, has started a personal weblog. Readers from the USA can win an El Nino professional Pool Cue by visiting his personal weblog.
