Rich Mager wins All American Tour Stop

The fourteenth stop of the 2005/2006 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance - ACS) featured a $500-added purse and thirty players hosted by owner Jon VanRoekel at Lassiter's Billiards in Clinton, Iowa, on Saturday, February 25. The event featured double-elimination 8-ball on 7-foot Valley bar boxes. Rich Mager of Aurora, Illinois - rated a '4' on a regional handicap system used - took an undefeated march through the winner's bracket to gain a spot in the title match after outpointing Kevin Helfrich [4] (Sterling, IL) 4-2. Helfrich was then relegated to 3rd place by Kevin Donner [4] (Dixon, IL) 2-4 in the loser's bracket finals. The tourney finals was a rematch of Rich Mager and Kevin Donner, whose only loss had earlier come at the hands of Mager. Rich Mager repeated his domination over Donner with a 4-1 victory to claim the title.

By virtue of also being the highest-finishing ACS member, Rich Mager qualified for a free entry into either the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships or the 2006 ACS National 9-Ball Championships - courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors McDermott Handcrafted Cues, Silver Cup Chalk, PJ?s Billiard Supply Co. and Samm?s Side Pocket Productions for their support in donating 'Value-In-Kind' product for this and all stops on the McDermott All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting the ACS.
