Labonte wins Pechauer New England 9 Ball Series Stop

Randy Labonte

51 of the strongest players in the New England Area came out to play on a gloomy Sunday Afternoon at the latest stop on the Pechauer New England 9-Ball Series. Some of the notable Players that were in attendance were Walter Brkyska, Dave Fernandez, Louis Rios, Lee French, Ray Macnamara, Kevin Guimond, Chuck Altomare and Sam Frangie.

This field was packed with so many strong players that I couldn't predict who would come out on top in this one.

Winners side Finals: Randy Labonte vs Ray Macnamara
This match was a one sided match. Ray didn't get many opportunities to shoot and whn he did get to the table he did not take advantage of them. He would fall 7-1.

Losers side Finals: Sam Frangi vs Ray Mcnamara
This was a revenge match for Frangie as Ray put him on the one loss side earler in the day. This match went neck and neck for the first 8 games, then Frangie broke away and won the next 2 games for his first berth into the finals this year.

The Finals were one single race to 10 games - Randy Labonte vs Sam Frangie.
Randy came out of the gate firing and he won the first 5 games before Sam knew what hit him. Sam won rack six to make the score 5-1 and then he snapped two 9 balls on the break in a row to make the score 5-3. Randy would win the next 2 racks to make the score 7-3, but Frangie wouldn't give up that easy, he won the next game to close the gap between the 2 players to 7-4. That was as close as Randy would let Sam get and he would win the next 3 games for his first win of the season.

I would like to thank Country Club USA for letting me host such a nice event. I would like to let everyone know that this room is one of the most pleasant places to play in New England.
