Ginky wins Joss Tour Comet Billiards Stop

George San Souci

George 'Ginky' San Souci avenged his only loss and won the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ.

San Souci was unbeated until Sunday when he suffered a hill-hill loss to Dan Barouty. Ginky had led the match 8-7, but couldn't get over the hill as Barouty came back to win it 9-8.

San Souci then went to the one-loss side to face Ryan McCreesh in the semi-finals. McCreesh came out strong and won four of the first five games to take a 4-1 lead. San Souci then took control of the match and won eight of the next ten games to score the 9-6 victory.

The true double elimiation finals started out close with neither player willing to give an inch. San Souci got to the hill first at 8-7 again and this time scored the game he needed to win the set 9-7 and force a second set. The second set was all San Souci as he dominated Barouty and scored a 9-2 victory for first place.

San Souci pocketed $1400 for first, while Barouty took home $920 for second. McCreesh and Mike Zuglan filled out the top four spots.
