Brunswick Korean Pro Tour Finale Announced


Korean TV Star Yuram Cha is #1 Seed & Favorite to Win

Dragon Promotions is pleased to announce the 2006 season finale of the Brunswick Korea Pro Pool Tour with the 2nd Annual KPT Pro Tour Championships to be held in Incheon, Korea on Feb 10-13,2007. The event will take place at The Lotte Department Store part of multi-billion dollar Lotte Company (owner of Lotte Construction, Lotte Beverage, Lotte Hotels, Lotte Shopping and Lotte Candy).

This will be one of the strongest international fields in Asia as players from Europe, North America, and all throughout Asia will come to duel. The event will boast the attendance of 3 World Champions including reigning World Champion and Defending Champion of this event Ronnie "Volcano" Alcano , Current #1 World Ranked & reigning World 14.1 Champion Thorsten Hohmann , and Former World 9Ball Champion and recent Derby City Straight Pool Champion Mika Immonen. Also appearing and competing at the KPT Pro Tour Championships is 5x USA Mosconi Cup Member Charlie Williams , Filipino young gun Roberto Gomez and the most feared money player in Asia Dennis Orcullo. Korea hopefuls include popular and legendary Korean Shin Young Park and up and coming Won Shik Ham. Japan's strong contingent of 15 players are led by JBC #1 Hiroshi Takenaka, Go Takami, and JPBA's junior sensation Hayato Hijikata. Hong Kong's "Bobby" Lee Chenman and Singapore's Ricky Chew will also join the fray.

The Womens Pro side will feature the talents of Japan's JBC #1 "Lady Samurai" Miyuki Sakai and JPBA #3 Kyoko Sone. Singapore's Charlene Chai might also be a threat but the favorites will be the home country talents of Korea's strong breed of young, female pool wizards. This legion of talent will be led by national star and current #1 Yuram Cha(19 years old), her sister and Seoul Open Champion Boram Cha (21 years old), #3 ranked Un Ji Park(18 years old), and Defending Champion and World Games Bronze Medalist Sung Hyun Jung.

The event is the largest prize money purse in Korea with $10,000 1st place for men and $3000 1st place for women. In Nov of 2007, the next Korea Pro Tour Championships will increase to $15,000 for 1st place . It will also have a weekly time slot for 6 weeks on Korea's #1 network MBC ESPN.

The KPT Awards Banquet will follow at the conclusion of the event and will award the top 8 men and the top 5 women on tour with Year End Bonus Money in the KPT Rankings. Special awards will follow recognizing the top names and successes for 2005 such as:
