Carolina Open - Day Two Updates II

Earlier in the day at Fast Eddie's Sports Bar and Grill in Goldsboro, North Carolina, we saw the winners side bracket of the one-pocket event heat up with Earl Strickland v. Rafael Martinez; New England's Chuck Altomare v. Scott Rabon; Robb Saez v. Sparky Ferrell; and Larry Nevel v. Gabe Owen.

From this group, Strickland, Rabon, Ferrell, and Nevel moved on and played at 7 p.m. Nevel was then matched up against Ferrell and won; and Strickland sent Rabon to the one-loss side. Larry Nevel and Earl Strickland will play for the hot seat at 9 p.m. this evening.

The one-loss side started out with sets between Russell Sassor and Shannon Daulton; Shaun Wilkie and Randy Epperson; Wade Crane and Louis Ulrich; and Richie Richeson was waiting in the wings for his opponent out of two of local players. Since then, the field has dwindled quite a bit and the 9 p.m. rounds are set. Some of the notable matches include Louis Ulrich taking on Sparky Ferrell, and Scott Rabon is waiting to find out who he will play out of Shannon Daulton and Richie Richeson.

As mentioned previously, the field will dwindle down completely to three players tonight. More updates to come!
