WWR Tour opens with another Rakin win

The Western Women's Regional Tour started their new season at Cue-Phoria Billiards in Carson City, NV with a field of 27 players. By the end of the tournament, the new season looked a lot like last season as Michelle Rakin went undefeated for the win.

Rakin took the hot-seat with a 7-2 win over Lisa D'Atri and waited for an opponent in the finals. D'Atri took the trip to the one-loss side where Revelina Morales was waiting. Morales drew a bye in the first round and then lost her next match on Saturday. She then won six straight matches on the one-loss side before she got to D'Atri. It would take a hill-hill win by D'Atri to finally end Morales' run.

This set up the rematch in the finals between Rakin and D'Atri. This time the match was closer, but in the end it was Rakin with the 7-5 victory for the tournament win.

Rakin pocketed $360 for first, while D'Atri took home $240 for second. Morales and Eleanor Collado filled out the top four spots.

The Western Women's Regional Tour will hold their next stop at The California Billiard Club in Mountain View, CA on August 23rd - 24th. That event will be a WPBA Nationals qualifier.
