America Sends Full Field to World Ten Ball Championships

Louis Ulrich will be just one of the US players in Manila

America will send a full field of 13 players to the World Ten Ball Championships in Manila this Sept 29 – Oct. 5. Accepting the invitation to represent their country are: Shane Van Boening, Johnny Archer, Corey Deuel, Robb Saez, Jeremy Jones, Gabe Owen, Charlie Bryant, Louis Ulrich, Charlie Williams, Shaun Wilkie, Stevie Moore and Oscar Dominguez. As part of the invitation process the USA was allowed by the WPA to also pick the number 1 ranked player who is not a US citizen but who lives here and has no other means of being invited to the event. This honor went to Mika Immonen.

These players will be competing for $400,000 in prize money and the tournament will be broadcast live throughout much of the world. It will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center, site of the 2006 World 9-Ball Championship. This is the first year that the WPA has held a World Ten Ball Championship so these players are taking part in a bit of billiards history in the making.

AZBilliards wishes to congratulate all of these players and send our hopes that they all shoot well and grab a roll or two.
