Scott Cohen wins Illinois All American Tour Stop

The second stop of the 50-stop 2008/2009 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Hammerheads Pool Bar in Dundee, IL, on Saturday, October 4.  The $500 added event showcased 28 players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.  Scott Cohen (Schaumberg, IL) vanquished all on this day, including an A-side bracket finals win over tough Tommy Hernandez (Glendale Heights, IL) 5-3.  Earlier in the A-bracket semis, Cohen knocked off Ike Runnels (Hopkins Park, IL) 5-3, as Tommy Hernandez was besting Henry Brodt (Glenview, IL) 5-2.  In the B-side round of eight, Eddie Baldera (Palatine, IL) eliminated Gill Hernandez (Mt. Prospect, IL) 5-1, while Duane Tuula (Rockford, IL) ended Kassandra Werner's (Glendale Heights, IL) run at 7th place, 5-2.  In the B-side quarterfinals Baldera ousted Brodt 5-4, and Runnels swept out Tuula 5-0 – both losers tying for 5th place.  The B-side semifinals featured Runnels knocking out Baldera at 4th place – 5-2; and Runnels then taking a place in the tourney finals by turning out Tommy Hernandez in the B-side finals – 5-4.  In the tourney finals, Runnells had to beat the undefeated Scott Cohen twice, but Scott took the efficient route of clipping Runnells 5-4 in the first set for the title!

By virtue of Scott Cohen being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2009 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors J.
