Corr wins WPBA US Open

The WPBA website is reporting that Karen Corr has won the WPBA US Open with a 7-6 win over Ga-Young Kim in the finals.

Corr took the hot-seat on Saturday evening with a 9-8 win over Kim. Kim lead that match 5-2 but scratched on two straight breaks to let Corr back into the match.

Vivian Villarreal won the first TV match on Sunday with a 7-5 win over Jeanette Lee. Villarreal then faced Ga-Young Kim in the semi-finals. Kim's break would not fail her this time, as she ran out on each game she broke and kicked a ball in at 6-5 to set up the final run-out and 7-5 match win.

Corr's victory narrowed Allison Fisher's lead on the WPBA points list to 110 points.

Complete brackets for the event are posted on the WPBA website.
