Jesse Bowman wins All American Tour Stop

The fourteenth stop on the 2008/2009 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Billiards on Main in Galesburg, IL, on Saturday, November 21.  The $500 added event drew thirty-seven players in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.  Bar-table giant Jesse Bowman (E. Moline, IL) did not let the handicaps interfere with his undefeated sprint to the finals.  In the hot-seat match, Bowman (rated a “7” on a regional handicap system used) dominated Duane Tuula [5] (Rockford, IL) 7-2.  Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Bowman upended Josh Johnson [7] (Davenport, IA) 7-4, while Tuula dispatchEd Scott Hargens [5] (Cedar Rapids, IA) 5-3.  In the B-side bracket David Coles [7] (Beloit, WI) ousted Chad Vilmont [7] (Clinton, IA) at 7th place 7-2, while Chad Elston [4] (Rochester, IL) eliminated Doric Smith [4] (Galesburg, IL) at the same placement 4-2.  In the B-side quarterfinals Hargens shuttled David Coles into 5th place 5-4, while Josh Johnson dispatched Chad Elston 7-3.  Scott Hargens continued his hot hand in the B-side semifinals – upsetting Josh Johnson 5-3.  In the B-side finals, Hargens avenged his earlier loss to Duane Tuula, whitewashing Duane 5-0.  In the tournament finals, Hargens put up a game fight in the first set, but Jesse Bowman caught Scott on the hill to take the match and the title by a 7-4 margin!

By virtue of Jesse Bowman being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2009 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors J. Pechauer Custom Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric, Nick Varner Signature Cases and oZone Billiards for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pechauer All American Tour.
