The BCA today announced that the Steve Mizerak Championship, the year-end finale of the Seminole Pro Tour, has been added to the list of ranking events for 2009. This brings the total number of ranking opportunities for the men to six events for the calendar year. The events, in order, are:
1) Turning Stone Winter event
2) The Players Championship at Valley Forge
3) The Turning Stone Summer Event
4) The US Open
5) The Steve Mizerak Championship
6) The Reno Open.
Kevin Pickard, Tournament Director for the Seminole Tour, reacted to the announcement: "The Steve Mizerak Championship has been a premiere tournament over the last few years, but joining with the BCA will take this event to the next level. The Seminole Tribe of Florida is proud to add $40,000 and is excited to bring the top players from all over the world to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL."
Players will be able to drop one event from their rankings in 2009 in order to accommodate them for a single scheduling or other conflict that might prevent their attending all six events. It is the BCA rankings that determine the invitees to international events.
