Dave Daya kicks it into High Gear

The 9-ball ACTION was at Boulevard Billiards in Allentown Pennsylvania. Tour stop #12 saw thirty-three dedicated pool players fighting it out for top honors. Two-time winner Pat McNally, Mike Miller and the #1 point leader Phil Sherman had the aspiration of getting the first place trophy and cash. Also present was WPBA touring pro Megan Minerich. Originally from Pennsylvania, Megan now resides in Lafayette Colorado. We sure do miss you on the East Coast!

Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines! The one-day tournament had the makings of a fantastic finish. In the early rounds Mike Lizzio bested Phil Sherman and Mike Miller sent Pat McNally to the one-loss side. Hank Nguyen won five straight matches in the one-loss side to finish fourth. But during the entire day one player would challenge all the past winners. Dave Daya from Mt. Carmel, PA defeated four opponents before falling to Mike Miller. This sent Dave Daya to challenge Pat McNally for the right to play Mike Miller in the final match. Dave Daya won the match over Pat McNally. In the race to 9 finals Mike Miller from Easton, PA struck early with a 2-1 advantage. Dave Daya tied up the score at 4-4. Dave Daya then proceeded to charge up his turbo boosters! Winner of the next five games with pinpoint precision and excellent ball pocketing abilities, Dave Daya coasted to the finish line with a 9-4 victory.

The NE Players Tour would like to personally congratulate Dave Daya on his recent title. On and off the table Dave Daya represents our sport in a manner that should be emulated. The sport of pool is more fulfilling when we represent the sport the way it should be.

Tour stop #13 is at Drexeline Billiards in Drexel Hill, PA on Sunday October 26th. See you there for the "Best Time Ever"!
