World Summit of Pool kicks off

One half of the winning team, Max Eberle

The Fury World Summit of Pool started with a pre-show event for its special sponsors tonight at the prestigious Friar Club in New York City. The Friars Club is an elite club for entertainers including Frank Sinatra, George Burns, Whoopi Goldberg, and many others. Harold Siegel, Chairman of the UPA Board of Advisors, is also on the Board of Governors for the Friars Club and set up a special dinner and sponsor pro-am event.

Participating in the Fury World Summit Sponsor Pro Am Event included sponsors Ian Lowitt of Lehman Brothers, Phil Muller of Software Techniques, Harold Siegel of Excelsior Graphics, Robert Lipson of the Rockwell Group, and Scott Taylor owner of Fury Cues.

Pros that were on hand included Rodney Morris, Tony Robles, Max Eberle, MIka Immonen, and Charlie Williams.

The pros and sponsors were treated to a wonderful dinner and great atmosphere of fun and laughter as they shrked and joked their way through the 3 hours of match play. In the end, the scotch doubles team of Robert Lipson and Max Eberle defeated Scott Taylor and Tony Robles. A fitting finals with Lipson being the Fury World Summit organizer and Scott Taylor the title sponsor of the event.

Players meeting commences Wednesday at 5pm and the field includes top draws such as Johnny Archer, Jose Parica, Nick Varner, and international players Niels Feijen, Tony Crosby, Luc Salvas and many more.
