Hernandez holds off Zuglan for Action win

The Joss North East 9-Ball Tour was at Action Billiards in Hamden, CT this weekend with a field of 34 players competing for the $1500 in added prize money.

Frankie Hernandez made his way to the hot-seat match where he sent Mike Zuglan to the left side of the board 9-6.

Zuglan beat Robb Saez 9-5 in the semi-finals to earn the rematch with Hernandez in the finals. The first set when to hill-hill before Zuglan scored the 9-8 win to force the second set. The second set was also close, but this time it was Hernandez scoring the 9-7 win.

Hernandez won $1200 for first place, while Zuglan settled for $870 in second place prize money. Saez and John Fernandes filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Accu Billiards in New Bedford, MA next weekend for a $2500 added event. The Straight Pool event scheduled for the end of this month at Classic Billiards in Rochester, NY has been changed to a $2000 added 9-ball event by popular demand.
