Canadians Take Commanding Lead in Points

After 5 Pechauer Tour stops this season, Canadian comrades Paul Potier and Mike Vidas have taken a commanding lead early in the tour year. Potier who has placed both first and second in the two stops he has participated in (2nd at Ballroom Billiards in Vancouver, BC and 1st at Panama Reds in Portland, OR), now sits atop a very distinguished list of West Coast competitors. Vidas, one of Potier's road partners competed in the same two tournaments and fared just slightly worse with a 1st place at his home room, Ballroom Billiards, and a 4th place at Panama Reds. The two now have significant leads in the overall standings with 375 and 325 total points. Potier plans to play at the BreakZone Billiards stop just prior to the Bicycle Club's UPA event in January, which depending on how he finishes could really set him apart from the rest of the pack! Tied for third place at 275 total points are Stan Tourangeau, another dominating Canadian, and Steve Lingelbach, tour coordinator.

It should start to get interesting as soon as the tour has more stops in California, which will happen in the first quarter of 2004. BreakZone Billiards, owned by "Underdog" Dave Chartier will kick off 2004 January 3rd and 4th, then Buffalo Billiards just outside of Santa Rosa, CA and California Billiard Club in Mountain View, CA in February and March respectively. The tour season promises all sorts of new surprises and excitement. Don't miss out! Call 503-674-8300 for the dates and tour stops closest to you!
