Kim dominates Spirit Tour Stop

Tracie Hines and Ga-Young Kim

Ga-Young Kim continued her domination of the Ladies Spirit Tour this weekend with her second straight undefeated run through the brackets at Pro Billiards in Orlando, FL.

Last month at Capones, Kim went unbeaten and defeated Sarah Ellerby for the hot-seat and again in the finals. This month, Ellerby was not in attendance, and Kim cruised through the brackets relatively untested.

Kim defeated Tracie Hines 7-2 for the hot-seat and waited for an opponent in the finals. While Kim was capturing the hot-seat, Japanese newcomer Miyuki Sakai was eliminating #1 ranked Jeannie Seaver 7-5 on the one-loss side. Sakai is a newcomer to the regional tour scene this year, but she already has one WPBA qualifier under her belt and has been scoring high finishes in almost every event she plays in.

Sakai met her match in the semi-finals though, as Hines handed her a 7-3 loss and Sakai settled for third place.

This victory set up a rematch between Hines and Kim in the finals, but Kim again cruised with a 7-1 win in the finals.

Kim collected $700 for first place, while Hines settled for $500 in second place prize money. Sakai and Jeannie Seaver filled out the top four spots. Kim's victory will earn her a tie with Seaver for #1 on the Ladies Spirit Tour points list.

The Ladies Spirit Tour will be at Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL on April 24th - 25th for their next event, a WPBA Qualifier.
