Pros To Cash Big in June

The month of June is turning into a huge cash party for the Touring Pro Pool Player.  If you only count the major events like The World 10-Ball Championships in Oslo and the Ultimate 10-Ball Championships in Tunica alongside the Southern Classic those three prize funds alone total more than half a million dollars, $575,000 to be closer to the truth. And this amount could grow to over $600,000 if current but uncompleted sponsorship plans come into place.

This will make June of 2013 the richest June in professional pool in more than three decades. After the dearth of interest in professional tournaments in 2012 this year certainly appears to be the correction to the downtrend that all those whose interests lay in professional pool desired.

In May there is $175,000 on offer at the China Open and the World 8-Ball, if it comes off, will bring the pros another $200,000. And then in July Mark Griffin and his CSI group will give away more than $160,000 at the U.S. Open One Pocket, Eight Ball and Ten Ball events. Add the three months together and the pro players are shooting at over a million dollars in only three months, one of the richest stretches in pro pool in modern memory.

These events are fan-friendly! The World 10-Ball Championship in Oslo gives fans the opportunity to take in northern Europe in late spring. Take in the tournament, the Viking Museum and go island hopping in Oslo Fjord, then train to any of the countries nearby to continue your vacation.

The Ultimate 10-Ball Championship and the Southern Classic are being held back-to-back at the Harrah's Tunica Resort and Casino. Check it out at: http://www.harrahstunica.com/casinos/grand-casino-resort-tunica/casino-misc/hotel-overview.html

Only 25 minutes from the Memphis airport this event is more centrally located than most and is easy and inexpensive to reach from any airport in the country. They have an RV resort as a part of the property so here is a great excuse to actually use that RV you have parked outside.  While there you can shoot skeet, play golf at the Cottonwoods Course, swim either inside or outside, play tennis and indulge yourself at any of several restaurants and the Bellissimo Spa.

The Diamond Billiard's Southern Classic this year features an expanded Bigfoot Challenge with 32 top pros going at it on the big track - the Diamond 10-footers. And of course the standards are back again with Bank Pool, One Pocket and Nine Ball taking center stage. Events for all interests!

AZBilliards is pleased to see new promoters coming onto the scene and the older ones expanding and improving their offerings. It is a progress that deserves and requires the support of the fans to continue to evolve and grow. Looking for a way to spend a few days of your summer vacation? Oslo, Tunica and Las Vegas await you.
