Rakin’s streak ends! Sort of.

The Western Women's Regional Tour held their season finale at Family Billiards in San Francisco, CA over the weekend and Michelle Rakin's streak was brought to a halt. Well, one of the streaks at least.

Rakin came into the tournament having won her last eight tour stops and having not even lost a match in a year's time. To no ones surprise, Rakin took the hot-seat with a win over Revelina Morales. It wasn't easy though as the match went to hill-hill before Rakin pulled it out.

After Morales eliminated Mary Osborn 7-4 on the one-loss side, she got to the task of beating Rakin in the true double elimination finals. The first match of the finals went back and forth until the hill-hill mark, but this time it was Morales who scored the win to take the set 7-6 and to end Rakin's run of undefeated matches.

The second set was also close with both players tied at 2-2 when Rakin took over and won five of the next six games to earn the 7-3 win. It was Rakin's ninth straight tournament win.

Rakin collected $375 for first place and Morales settled for $255. Osborn and Lisa D'Atri filled out the top four spots. As top player on the tour, Rakin won a players choice qualifier for the 2005 WPBA season. Jane Fujinaga was #2 on the tour for the season.
