Rasmussen wins KBP Amateur Opener

The KBP Fury Florida Ladies Amateur 9-Ball Tour held its first stop on April 3, 2004 at Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, Fl. The play was great and we saw some fantastic shots by several of the Ladies. The play was intense as Nikki Rasmussen, in her very first match was sent to the west side of the bracket by Jennifer Nelson. Then as the play went on Jessica Barnes sent Jennifer Nelson to the one loss side and matching her up with Nikki Rasmussen. Nikki prevailed in that match and continued her quest for the finals. Jennifer Prost kept posting steady wins to stay on the winner's side having to finally match up with Nikki in the end. The race to 9 games went hill to hill and in the end Nikki took home the first place prize of $325. This is Nikki's first tournament win and KBP is proud to have her win one of their events as her first win. Tour Owner Kay Higgins and Tour Director Tim Higgins were both on hand to congratulate the winners and see all the action and are very excited for Nikki. Tour Owner Kay Higgins stated, "Nikki wanted the flow chart from the tournament and as soon as I get her a copy she will have her first win's chart." Jennifer Prost finished 2nd place and Jessica Barnes finished 3rd. Thanks to all who participated.

Strokers Billiards, located in Palm Harbor, Fl has been a great support for all pool players. Room owner Jose Del Rio has a total of 6 events booked just between the Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour and the Ladies Amateur 9-Ball Tour along with many other events. KBP and Fury are very pleased with the outcome and support that Strokers and Jose has been giving the tour and will continue to have many more stops there. The room is set up for easy spectator viewing and plenty of tournament quality tables. We, at KBP, feel this is a room that is well worth a player checking into.
