Roaring Lion Viking Tour at Breakers

There is enough pool being played at Breakers in Knoxville to satisfy the most ardent player. In addition to the $5000 main event, there are also midnight mini-tournaments to sample.

The Friday night mini was a thirty-two-man $30 entry event. Daniel Autrey, won this one by topping Matt Braden and completing his trip through the field without ever tasting defeat. Roger Hawkins finished in third while Robert Greene exited in fourth. Autrey took home $625 for his efforts while Braden settled for $400 and Hawkins left with $275.  Greene pocketed $100 for his fourth-place finish.

The Saturday night mini was a bit richer. This was a $200 entry fee shindig that was a nail-biting winner-take-all format. Score one for the underdogs! Jeff Tabet bested pre-match favorite Russ Edwards and, including the calcutta winnings, took away $2,130 to brighten his weekend.

Meanwhile, back on the main dance floor, the field has begun to narrow in the Roaring Lion Energy Drink main event. The field is now down to 48 players and many still have high hopes of success.  Dan Autrey, Matt Bulfin, Jeff Tabet and David Maddux are mentioned as favorites, but this is 9-Ball on a barbox and surprises come often.

AZBilliards would like to extend our thanks to Viking Cues, Aramith Balls, Roaring Lion, Championship Billiard Cloth, Brunswick Billiards, the Chameleon Rack and our fine hosts here at Breakers Sports Bar and Grill for making this event possible.
