Roger Cargin wins in Wausau

Roger Cargin and Kevin Klages

The thirty-ninth stop of the 2010-11 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS)  was hosted in Wausau, WI, on Saturday, March 12, at the Weston Cue Club.  The $500 added event featured a 33-player field in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot Valley bar boxes.  Roger Cargin (Clintonville, WI) took control of the A-side, completing his march to the hot seat with a semifinals win over Kevin Klages (Antigo, WI) 5-3 and a finals win over Scott Herbeck (Prairie du Sac, WI) 5-2.

On the B-side “final 8”, Billy Lasse (Antigo, WI) outscored Mike Jantz (Auburndale, WI) 5-4 and Duncan Kaufman (Sauk City, WI) took down Richie Kersten (Wausau, WI) 5-1, to eliminate Jantz and Kersten at 7th place.  In the next round Duncan Kaufman and Shawn Wilkes (Plainfield, WI) were eliminated at 5th place to the cues of Kevin Klages 5-3 and Billy Lassee 5-3 respectively.  Lassee then fell to 4th place on the hill to Kevin Klages 5-4.  Klages in turn claimed the B-side finals by eliminating Scott Herbeck 5-2.  That set up the tourney finals between once-defeated Kevin Klages and undefeated Roger Cargin.  Cargin made short work of the affair to claim the title in the first set by a 5-0 margin !

By virtue of Roy Skenandore (Oneida, WI) being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2011 Lucasi Hybrid ACS Nationals at the Tropicana Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.  The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour. All entries in the Tour are also entered into a drawing in an end-of-Tour drawing for four (4) $400+value Lucasi Hybrid Cues courtesy of Ozone Billiards.  Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2010/2011 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.

The Tour moves to the Pontiac Crystal Palace in Pontiac, Illinois, on Saturday, March 19, with a $500 added 8-Ball stop (contact Chris Wilder at 309-261-2256).
