RP Child Prodigy Hopes to Keep Streak Alive in Sureshot 10-Ball

RP child prodigy, Jonas Magpantay, seeks to continue his winning streak as the native of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro mixes it up with other local pool players at the 1st 10 ball invitational tournament on October 13 to 15 at Sureshot Billiards Hall in Tondo, Manila.

Magpantay, a grade six-pupil of Pedro Tuazon Elementary School in Cubao, is coming into the competition after his first-place finish in the World Pool Billiard Association (WPA) Call Shot Ten Ball tournament at the Pool Fussion and Bar in Manila last week and another first-place finish in the 1st Elbow Room 9-ball tour in Elbow Room Billiards Hall in Metro Walk, Ortigas Center last Tuesday.

The champion in the tournament will bring home the lion's share of P4,000 according to tournament organizer Jayson Chua. The runner-up and the third placer will receive P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.

Supported by Vice President Noli de Castro, Raya Sports and BSCP, Magpantay, along with reigning national champion Jericho Banares will represent the country in the forthcoming 2008 WPA World Junior of Pool Championship on November 30 to December 4 in Reno, Nevada, USA.
