Sessions wins SEAL finale

Betty Sessions went undefeated to win the Southeast Amateur Ladies Tour season finale at J.O.B. Billiards in Madison TN last weekend.

Sessions met up with local player Joyce Dowden for the hot-seat. Dowden had been having a great tournament but she ran out of steam a little at the end. Sessions won the match 7-3 and Dowden went to the left side of the board for a rematch with Christy Norris.

Dowden had defeated Norris 7-5 in the third round, but Norris got her revenge with a 7-2 win this time. This left Norris and Sessions fighting it out for first place.

Norris came out strong and led the match 3-0, but Sessions came right back to win the next six games for a 6-3 lead. Norris stayed close, but in the end it was Sessions with a 9-7 win.

Sessions pocketed $458, while Norris settled for $355. Dowden and Angel Starr filled out the top four spots.

This was the final stop of the year and the points list was tight. While Trace Hines had already locked up the top spot on the points list, Kim Whitman held second place by a slim margin. With Hines already a WPBA touring pro, first right to any WPBA qualifying spots would go to the second place player on the points list. Whitman finished in fifth, which left the door open for Sessions to move into second and Norris to move into third.
