Shaw, Gorst, Morris and Hjorleifson Final Four Unbeaten at Turning Stone

Rodney Morris

Day four at the Turning Stone Classic XXXVIII is about to get underway and the field is now down to just eight players, who still have hopes of taking home the $10,000 first place prize.

On the winner’s side, nine time Turning Stone Champion Jayson Shaw will face Rodney Morris, who is looking to add a second Turning Stone championship to his trophy case. Shaw has looked to be his usual dominating self all event long, but Morris has quietly been displaying the smooth effortless play that he is known for all week.

While that match is going on, defending champion Fedor Gorst will take on “Big Red” Canada’s Erik Hjorleifson. Gorst has been drawing the biggest crowds all week, but he will have to deal with the contingent of vocal Canadian fans who will be pulling for Hjorleifson.

On the one loss side, Danny Hewitt will play Jonathan Smith while Ron Casanzio plays Finland’s Casper Matinkainen.

Matches are scheduled every 2 hours, starting at 11am EST.

Fans who can’t make it to Turning Stone can follow the online brackets and real time scoring from the event. Upstate Al and Digital Pool are streaming the tables from the event, with the feature table available for free on Upstate Al’s Facebook Page.
