Snooker Champs Head to Brazil

Five former World Champions are among the field for the inaugural Brazil Masters in September.

The new tournament, which runs from September 15 to 18 at the spectacular Costão do Santinho resort in Santa Catarina, will capitalise on the burgeoning popularity of snooker in Brazil.


The line up is:

Six-times World Champion Steve Davis
2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy
2006 World Champion Graeme Dott
2002 World Champion Peter Ebdon
Two-time Masters champion and current World number 3 Mark Selby
Current Shanghai Masters champion and World number 7 Ali Carter
Former Wuxi Classic champion and World Championship semi-finalist Mark Allen
Winner of the  2011 Australian Goldfields Open Stuart Bingham
Former Shanghai Masters champion Ricky Walden
Former Six-Reds World Champion Mark Davis
Four time World Ranking Event winner Stephen Lee
Former Grand Prix and China Open finalist Jamie Cope


Brazil's top player Igor Figueiredo, who reached the televised stage of the World Open last season during his debut season on the pro tour, is also among the line up. He will be joined by two Brazilian wild cards who come through a qualifying event.
