Sossei repeats and Brucato Earns First Joss Tour wins at Sharpshooters

Jeremy Sossei, Sharpshooters Owner Julie Berlin and Bucky Souvanthong

Jeremy Sossei turned in his second straight Joss NE 9-Ball Tour victory on October 10th - 11th at Sharpshooters Billiards and Sports Pub in Amsterdam, NY.

It was Sossei's second hot-seat in a row, as he once again took the winner's side with a dominating performance. This week, it was Bucky Souvanthong who had no answer for Sossei in a 9-4 match. Souvanthong would be back in the finals though, after he defeated Ron Casanzio in the semi-final match. The final match went one set with Sossei reaching the hill first with a comfortable 8-4 lead. Souvanthong fought back and won two games to cut Sossei's lead in half at 8-6, but that would be as close as he would get, as Sossei won the match 9-6 for his second consecutive tour stop win. It was also his third straight appearance in the finals, including his second place finish two weeks ago at TJ's Classic Billiards in Waterville, Maine.

Although Sossei is a familar face in the winner's circle, Nick Brucato is not as familar in that position. He earned his first Joss Tour second chance win on Sunday, with a come-from-behind win over Lyn Wechsler in the finals.

Once again, the $1700 custom engraved Joss Cue raffle was won by a player in the event. This time it was Kevin Ketz taking home this beautiful cue.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Premium Billiards next week, for their next stop, another $1500/$500 added event.

Tour director Mike Zuglan indicated that the upcoming Turning Stone Classic XXV is now 2/3 full. Players are urged to contact Zuglan at 518-356-7163 to get their entry fees in.
