GoPlayPool.com has joined in on the efforts of The Knights of Columbus to raise relief funds for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.  More than 11 million people felt the effects of this disaster, killing more than 6,000 and four million people remain homeless following the typhoon in the Philippines, one of the largest storms in history.  Relief efforts continue as charity events are still working to raise funds to help the people affected by the deadly Typhoon Haiyan.  One of those events is the "Relief for the Philippines" benefit 8-ball tournament being held in Rancho Cucamonga, California at Stix Billiards.  The tournament is being hosted and Sponsored by The Southern California Knights of Columbus. 

 

Other sponsors include Tiger Products, Stix Billiards, Kamui Tips, Ozone Billiards, Crown City Billiards, The GPPA, Ron Rosas of The Sardo Method of Learning, Million Dollar Billiards, Max Eberle, and Silver Q Billiards.  More donors and sponsors are being added to the list as the tournament date approaches.  Along with raffle prizes and trophies for tournament winners, there will also be entertainment and exhibitions provided by professional players like Mr.400 John Schmidt, who has run 400 balls without missing.  Past tournaments have also seen celebrity appearances including Martin Sheen, Steven Colbert, members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more.  

 

The event is at Stix Billiards on February 22, 2014 with registration beginning at 12PM with the tournament starting at 1PM.
