The Great Lakes Tour Signs Deal with Jacoby Cues

Shelby Township, Michigan July 1, 2004 -

The Great Lakes Tour, formerly known as the Michigan Women's 9-Ball Tour, has recently signed Jacoby Cues as its new title sponsor. The tour is in its second year, and has also incorporated the former Midwestern Women's Regional Tour.

During its first season, the WPBA-sanctioned tour held events solely in the state of Michigan. With the merger of the Midwestern Tour, the Jacoby Cues Great Lakes Tour will now be adding qualifiers and money-added events to its schedule in the entire Midwest region.

"We are very excited about our sponsorship deal with Jacoby Cues," says Alice Rim, tour coordinator and WPBA Touring Pro. "They make excellent products and we are proud to have them as our title sponsor."

"With the merging of the two tours and the addition of a new title sponsor, we now have the opportunity to hold bigger and better events," add Julie Melman, co-founder and tour coordinator.

The tour has obtained additional sponsorship from 9ballking.com, Midwest Amusements, Nick Varner Cues and Cases, Championship Billiards, Labarons Billiard Supply and Bebob Publishing.

Media partners include: azbilliards.com, Inside Pool Magazine, Billiards Digest, Pool & Billiard Magazine, Professor Q-Ball, National Billiards News, Inside English Magazine and Chalk and Cue.

The Jacoby Cues Great Lakes Tour's season opener will be the Michigan State Championship, September 25-26, 2004 at Hall of Fame Billiards in Warren, Michigan. There will be up to $2000 added to the prize fund, and the winner of the event will receive a $500 paid entry into the 2005 WPBA U.S. Open. For more information, call (586) 604-4588 or (517) 918-2220.
