Day one is complete at the San Miguel Asian Tour's Hong Kong Stop and all but one seeded player has advanced into the third round.
Top seed Francisco Bustamante scored a 9-5 win over Chinese Taipei's Hua-Fong Wang and will face Japanese star Hisashi Yamamoto on Sunday. #2 seed Efren Reyes cruised through Chian Zian Pang from Singapore 9-2, but survived a scare as Jian-Bo Fu took the match to hill-hill before Reyes was able to pull out the win. Reyes will face either Satoshi Kawabata or Chi-Wai Au on Sunday.
Of the eight seeded players, only #4 seed Young-Hwa Jeong from Korea dropped a match on Saturday. Jeong started with a 9-8 nailbiter over Meng-Wen Li, and then dropped a 9-5 match to Patrick Ooi on the TV table.
