Williams wins Tampa 10-Ball Stop

Charlie Williams

Charlie Williams went undefeated to win the Seminole Florida Pro Tour event at Planet 9-Ball in Tampa, Florida.

In a field of top talent that including Rodney Morris, Tommy Kennedy, Robb Saez and David Grossman, Williams was the man to beat. Williams took the hot-seat with an 8-3 win over Butch Croft.

The loss to Williams sent Croft to the one-loss side to face off with Neil Fujiwara. Fujiwara was coming off wins over Hunter Lombardo and David Grossman and looked to have the match with Croft won, but a miss at hill-hill on a very makeable 9-ball allowed Croft to escape with the match win.

The rematch between Williams and Croft was much more competitive than their first meeting. The match went back and forth with both players tied at 7 each when Williams won rack 15 to get to the hill and then went on to win the next rack for the 9-7 victory.

Williams earned $3500 in prize money while Croft settled for $2000. Fujiwara and David Grossman filled out the top four spots.

The Florida Pro Tour will be at Stroker's in Palm Harbor, Fl on July 9th-10th for their next event.
