Young guns came out to play at the South East Jr. Championship

Landon Shuffett and Billy Burke with representatives from Predator

South East Jr. Championship, part of Dragon Promotions 5th Annual Predator Florida Open, broke into play at the Bankshot billiards in Jacksonville Florida. A field of 12 players came out from all over the country to show their talent and skills.

All the Junior players showed great talent in the qualifier, but at the end it narrowed down to just two players. Billy "the kid" Burke age 17 from Orlando Florida and Landon "the Kentucky Kid" Shuffett age 10 from Greensburg Kentucky made it into the finals.

The final was played in the main pro arena in front of many fans and pros like Johnny Archer, John Schmidt, Mike Davis, Mika Immonen, Jeremy Jones, Charlie Williams, Rodney Morris, Thorsten Hohmann and many others.

In the beginning the match it looked as though if it was going to be a close one. Burke and Shuffett went back and fourth and at one point the match was tied 4-4. But it was Shuffett that took the lead from that point on and never looked back. Burke had a couple of chances to make a come back, but it fell short and Shuffett took the title by the score of 10-5.

By being in the finals both players got paid entry into Atlanta UPA pro tour and each received either a Predator or Lucassi cue.

It was great to see many promising young players out for the tournament and we would like to thank all the junior players, Junior Billiards tour, Predator, Lucasi and Jeff Scott from Bankshot Billiards for helping us host a great event.
