Matchroom VIP Prize Winners Announced

MATCHROOM SPORT are delighted to announce the winners of two top-of-the-range Predator cues as part of the VIP Prize Draw made following the 888.com World Cup of Pool at York Hall, London.

Pool fans who had purchased VIP tickets were entered into the draw, with Jon Shapland winning a brand new Predator BK3 break cue. Faster, Stronger, and more powerful, Predator created the BK3 after two years of research and development. The BK3 features more than a dozen design changes from the renowned BK2, providing more power for that all important first-shot and making it the world’s best cue.

Londoner Steven Baker was the winner of the all new Predator Sport2 high-performance playing cue. Engineered to exacting standards, the Sport2 features a four-piece hard maple butt construction, the tunable Uni-Loc® Weight Cartridge System, and the all new Sport2 grip featuring five different traction zones.

BK3 break cue winner Jon Shapland said: “When I was contacted to saying I'd won the BK3 cue I was absolutely chuffed.  Predator are the elite cue-makers and their equipment is used by a lot of the professional players, so I'm very happy to get my hands on a top-quality bit of kit!”

Steven Baker, who won the Sport2 cue said: “I got the message that I had won and couldn’t stop smiling. My friend and I had been looking at the Predator cues after the championships discussing how good they were, so first things first, I phoned him and rubbed the good news in his face, with the challenge of a Saturday game.  I can’t wait to break the new cue out and show my stuff!”

The VIP Prize draw also offered a third-place prize, with the Super Aramith Pro balls used in the final going to Karl Day. Five lucky runners-up received tickets to Matchroom Boxing’s ‘Carpe Diem’ show at the O2 Arena, London and witnessed Scott Quigg retaining his WBA World Super-Bantamweight title and the professional debut of Anthony Joshua MBE, an Olympic gold medallist who stopped the previously unbeaten Italian Emanuele Leo in the first round.
