Vilmont wins All American Tour Stop

Chad Vilmont of Clinton, IA

The fifteenth stop of the 2005/2006 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance - ACS) featured a $1,000-added purse and sixty-six players aged from 12 to 65 hosted by owner Bill Kramer at Cuemasters Billiards in Dubuque, Iowa, on Saturday, March 4. The event featured double-elimination 8-ball on 7-foot Valley bar boxes. Chad Vilmont of Clinton, Iowa - rated a '5' on a regional handicap system used - took an undefeated march through the winner's bracket to gain a spot in the title match after outpointing Craig Hintgen [4] (Dubuque, IA) 5-1 in the winner's bracket semifinals and Dwaine Bowman [4] (E. Moline, IL) 5-3 in the winner's bracket finals. Hintgen was then relegated to 4th place by Rick Pena [4] (E. Moline, IL) 4-3 in the loser's bracket semi-finals. Pena then ousted Bowman in the loser's bracket finals 4-3, enabling Rick to gain a seat in the finals against Chad Vilmont. Vilmont was not to be denied the title this day, as he outfired Pena by a 5-1 margin to claim first place

By virtue of also being the highest-finishing ACS member, Chad Vilmont qualified for a free entry into either the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships or the 2006 ACS National 9-Ball Championships - courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors McDermott Handcrafted Cues, Silver Cup Chalk, PJ's Billiard Supply Co. and Samm's Side Pocket Productions for their support in donating 'Value-In-Kind' product for this and all stops on the McDermott All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting the ACS, and five new stops on the tour will be announced shortly.

On Saturday, March 18, the Tour will showcase two events: Greenfield's Pool & Sports Bar in Lakewood, CO, hosting a $1,000 added 8-ball McDermott All American tour stop (for onsite entry details contact Todd Grosvenor at 303/989-9820) and Rich's Roadhouse in Freeport, IL, hosting a $500 added 9-ball McDermott All American tour stop (for onsite entry details contact Mike Brubaker at (815) 233-6292).
